We're very pleased to announce the opening of our New Gallery : Studio Pin Ups
This has been no small amount of effort to reorganize our existing artwork into the appropriate galleries. Below, please find a small montage of examples of the kind of artwork that will be accepted, we would also recommend perusing through the gallery to get an idea of what's been included there:
So, the operative word(s) are simple and plain. For more definition, here are some important things to note:
Plain Background - plain setting Self explanatory I hope Plain wall (if any), plain floor (reflective is okay) - keep in mind its strictly a studio photo shoot. If it looks like the corner of a room in a home, or a hint of any location like an office (submit it instead to City Women & Glamor) even if it's rather plain. Studio photo shoots often use sheet walls as the backdrop and floor in one (no floor and no background at all is fine too).
Simple Objects A chair, a stool, a bench - simple shapes like boxes, circles etc. You can use simple props here too (an umbrella, a glass of wine, a magazine, an area rug - you get the idea). When we get into more complex objects like motorcycles or vehicles - submit those instead to "City Women & Glamor".
Lighting and Effects Lighting also is simple whether fully lit or rim lighting - keep in mind it's something, anything that can be accomplished in a real life studio. If we're applying post effects like color designs, or light strobes or fog, then its no longer studio - submit the piece to either "Miscellaneous" or "City Women & Glamor" whichever is most appropriate.
Theme With the Studio Pin Up gallery, we can see there's going to be some cross over - for instance an "elf" in a photoshoot, or a "dominatrix" in a photoshoot, or a Portraiture in a photoshoot. So, let's make this differentiation... Elves and fantasy and sci-fi figures should *always* go to the "Fantasy & Sci Fi" gallery regardless. Fetish and Gothic characters should *always* go to the "Fetish & Gothic" gallery regardless. Close Ups and Portraitures should *always* go in the "Close Ups & Portraitures" gallery regardless.
Hopefully that covers it all - any questions or comments?

We need a new Founder
First I'd like to thank all of you for having me as your Founder for over two years. I'll be leaving dA around May 20, the day that Eclipse takes over and kicks the old format away. That means that CGPINUPS (https://www.deviantart.com/cgpinups) will need a Founder! Any volunteers? (I think you need to be an admin.)
Thanks very much again,
Tom Chronophontes (https://www.deviantart.com/chronophontes)
Problems with Eclipse
Apparently Eclipse doesn't recognize subcategories of Digital Art, including 3-Dimensional Art, under which all submissions to this group (except animations) are appropriate. I recommend that, before you submit to CGPINUPS (https://www.deviantart.com/cgpinups), you switch back to the old pre-Eclipse format. (How to do that? Click on the "Profile" icon; at the bottom it will say "Switch to Old Site.")
Hello!
This is Chronophontes (https://www.deviantart.com/chronophontes) (Thomas Ahlswede), the new Founder. The great nucks (https://www.deviantart.com/nucks) has left as Founder, and asked me to take over. I'll take this opportunity to thank him for doing an awesome job running the group.
I don't anticipate making any changes, certainly not any major ones. I've reposted the group rules, with a few clarifications but no changes.
A slight caution: I'm lazy. I'm also the Founder of two very small groups, which I have not tried to expand because it would be more work! So I'll be delegating some of my responsibilities, particularly recruiting members, and thinking up and running contests or special projects. In
This might be a dumb question
This question comes from someone who still uses Victoria 4 in Poser. :o I know crazy, huh?
What is the difference between Victoria 6 and Genesis 3 Female? If any...
Can either be used in Poser, and can all clothes, poses etc be interchangeable between them?
If I were to ask how to incorporate G3F into Poser for creation, how do I go about doing that - is there some special set up required?
All helpful comments are welcome - LOL !
:D :D

I think it's a wonderful idea and distinction. I am anxious to get to work and showcase simplicity which can be so alluring all by itself.
